The materials

Materials

What each piece is made of, what that means for how it looks and feels, and how to look after it.

01

Ceramic

Glazed and hand-painted ceramic, with weight and warmth.

Nine pieces are ceramic, from high-gloss glazes to matte, textured surfaces. Two are hand-painted, their texture built up by brush rather than printed.

  • Matte to high-gloss glaze finishes
  • More weight and warmth than glass
  • Holds colour and texture well

Care

Dust with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Decorative use unless the product page says otherwise.

02

Glass

Hand-blown and mouth-blown glass that catches and holds light.

Seven pieces in the collection are hand-blown or mouth-blown: three vases, two candle holders, a candlestick and a small bird. Each is shaped by hand at the furnace, so no two are quite the same.

  • Catches and holds light
  • Colour and gradient only glass can show
  • Hand-blown pieces vary slightly, one to the next

Care

Hand wash in lukewarm water. Avoid sudden temperature changes. Dry with a soft cloth.
